Box Finder: Home Inventory App — Privacy Policy
Overview
Box Finder: Home Inventory App helps you catalogue boxes using handwritten labels, photos, notes and places. It works without a separate Box Finder account. We do not operate an app backend, advertising service or analytics service for the app.
Local storage and iCloud
Your box labels, descriptions, notes, places and selected photos are stored on your device. When connected to iCloud, the app sends this catalogue to the private CloudKit database belonging to your Apple Account so it can synchronize and restore it. Apple operates iCloud; availability, storage limits and account settings are controlled by Apple. Your private catalogue is not published in a public database or copied to a developer-operated server. The developer cannot browse other users’ private CloudKit catalogue contents.
The app uses an account-specific identifier locally to keep catalogues belonging to different iCloud accounts separate. It does not request your Apple Account password, email address or payment-card details. You can choose the local catalogue in the app’s Settings; switching to local storage does not delete information previously stored in iCloud.
Photos and permissions
The camera is used only when you choose to photograph a box or its contents and grant camera permission. The system photo picker lets you choose particular photos without giving the app access to your entire photo library. Imported images are processed into catalogue photos; embedded GPS metadata is not retained in these generated photos. Place names and shelf details are text you enter, not device-location tracking.
Purchases
Apple handles the optional lifetime Pro purchase through StoreKit. The app receives verified product and purchase-status information to display localized prices, unlock unlimited boxes and restore Pro. We do not receive payment-card details. Purchase history is managed by Apple separately from your catalogue.
Sharing and deletion
Archive export shares box records, places and photos only through the destination you select in the system share sheet. Anyone you send an archive to may be able to read its contents. Delete box or place records in the app to remove them from the active catalogue; deletions are synchronized when that catalogue is connected to iCloud. Removing the app removes that installation’s local data but does not itself delete your iCloud catalogue or independently exported archives. Apple Account and iCloud settings control retained iCloud data; exported files remain at the destinations you chose.
Tracking and support
The app contains no advertising SDK, third-party analytics SDK or cross-app tracking. If you contact support by email, we receive the message and address you choose to send and use them to respond. Please do not send private catalogue photos, archive files, passwords or payment information.
